Extra large - 26oz and over!

BAZIL
Bazil was born 5th of march 1997
(5 years and 5 months old here)
His weight is a whopping 29oz (825gms)
He is a standard grey, a real couch potato and could eat for England - since he was castrated he put the weight on!
Bazil is one of Carolyn's chinchillas

BONNIXA
'Bonny' was born 21st June 2001 and weighed 15.5oz (439gms) when 3 months old!
She now weighs a solid 35.5oz (1006gms) shown here in all her fluffy glory
she is a Black and White cross (black velvet and a Wilson white parents)
and she would not only eat for England but the USA too!
All muscle and no fat - well that's what she thinks!
She was bought from a breeder at 3 months old

PEPPER
Pepper is 2 years and 2 months old here (born 23rd June 2000)
She weighs a good 28.2oz (797gms)
she is a black velvet chinchilla
Would more likely win the Olympic high jump for chinchillas any day!
She was bought from a breeder

OSSË
Ossë is 18 months old in this picture (born May 2001)
He weighs a very healthy 29.2oz (830gms)
He is an absolutely gorgeous Pink White chinchilla
He is very gentle and extremely curious, loves raisins and most of all his wife who is
a standard grey called Unna - they both live with their owner Kaisa in Oulu,Finland
Ossë was bought from a little pet shop - who obviously took good care of him

MYLO
Mylo is 2 years old here and weighs 27oz (790gms)
That's approximate - as he wouldn't stay too long on the scales!
He is a lovely white mosaic with a black mark on his left side
He was a rescue chin along with Feebee his 'girlfriend' and another little
 female grey - all were uncared for by their previous owners and sadly the little grey one had to be put to sleep because of neglected internal problems
Mylo and Feebee are now owned by our team member, Marie, and loving every minute of it!

DANDELION
Dandelion is a gorgeous large female owned by Lee
She is a standard grey chinchilla and a weight of a fantastic 38oz (1080gms)
Lee runs the 'Chin-up' sanctuary and looks after many poorly and
unwanted animals - mostly chinchillas (around 70+)
Not sure of Dandelion's age - but she was an adult obviously at weighing
And has all the love and adoration of her owner!
Dandelion has now passed away RIP (2004)

DUSTY
Dusty, a standard gray male chinchilla.
 He was born on May 12, 2007, and Dusty's owner's bought him from another chinchilla owner in August 2007. He weighs 820 grams, putting him in the "extra large" category. His size is inherited; even his previous owner did not know that his mother was pregnant until she saw the baby chinchillas.
He loves toilet paper rolls, as you can see in the picture, and he also likes chewing on people's hair when he gets the chance
